Hey, all you necrofowliacs! Welcome to the next installment of this “Dead Duck” episode, “THE DOGMA OF DEAD DUCK!” Here’s your trivia fix:
- In that third panel, I put all the emotion I could into Dead Duck’s face. It’s like seeing an animal suffering, but they don’t get it. They don’t know why they’re hurt, and they don’t know how to stop it, and you’re powerless to make a difference. I’ve experienced that with my old dog, Princess, as she died in my arms. I suppose I channeled that somehow in drawing this page.
- I know the villain’s dialogue is hammy, but as someone who’s performed on stage, I can really chew on words like this. You hate him, but as an actor, you love to play terrible characters with pulpy dialogue like this.
- I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get choked up a little drawing Zombie Chick in her “Good bye, Ducky” panel. I knew what was coming next, obviously, but man, did that get to me.
- And now, the culmination of this story. The part I savor the most in tales like this, where the son of a bitch gets what’s coming.
See you on the next page!

That’s the mark of a good story – even when you know what’s coming, you get choked up at a scene like that. And that sort of writing is why I follow the story almost religiously.
Glad to hear it!
Of all the things I’m reading currently, this is the story that’s got me caring and coming back the most. Kick his head in Ducky.
That’s the reaction I hoped for!
As much as I like to see the villain get his comeuppance, we’re gonna be seeing the consequences of DD violating Dogma, aren’t we?
Consequences are a comin’!
-whistles- Such emotion. Very well done, boss.
Thank you!
