- I'm very proud of the action, and the flow of action, throughout this story. Going wordless on this tale forced me to think like a director, and helped strengthen my illustrative storytelling abilities.
- My wife found it a little disturbing that we see Zombie Chick's underpants (bikini bottoms, actually) in the second panel. I tend to think of it in the Donald Duck sense--we see nothing wrong with the fact that he wears a shirt and hat with no pants. But as soon as he completely disrobes, it seems weird by comparison. Here we see Zombie Chick more clothed than ever, but seeing her tried and true bikini bottoms suddenly seems dirty in this context. Weird.
- And another scene where we see Zombie Chick cry, and once again, my heart breaks a little. As the comic's creator, you'd think I could prevent this kind of emotion-tweaking scene. Guess I'm just a sucker for sappy moments.
- If this bottom scene was inspired by anything, it was the shot of Miss Piggy walking under the spotlight in "The Great Muppet Caper" (1981), right after Kermit caught her impersonating Lady Holiday. Again, an emotional moment performed by a goofy character, and the juxtaposition makes it work so well. I learned this and so much more from The Muppets.
